Social media can play an essential role in your business; it allows you to share your expertise with your followers and connections, and important updates about your company. Social media is a great tool to help market your business. However, it can also be very time-consuming if you don’t know how to manage the time that you spend on it. The flip side of that is neglecting it.
Social media is also how many prospects conduct their research when they’re seeking out a product or service. If you haven’t updated your social media platforms in months, who do you think that prospect is going to go with – someone who they wonder is still in business or the company who has an updated company page? I would say that they’ll most likely choose the company that looks like it’s still in business.
As a business owner, you’re pulled in a lot of different directions, so updating your social media pages can be challenging; however, it can be done. The secret to keeping them updated is to plan in advance what you would like to post. Create a publishing schedule and include the content, the date, and time when the content should post and to which channels. Then find a social media scheduling tool so that you can schedule the posts in advance. Try and schedule at least two weeks of content at a time. Set aside some time to get this going.
If you find that you just can’t set this up on your own or maintain it, delegate it. You don’t want to lose business because your pages look stale.
