Have you ever stopped to think about the type of management style that you use? You most likely have a style, even if you’ve not given it any thought. Are you short and to the point, or do you take the time to explain? If you have team members, I do believe that it’s important to note how you manage your team, and I explain a couple of reasons for this below.
You will need a certain type of team member who can handle your management style. For example, if you’re short and to the point, someone who is sensitive may not be able to handle directness and will take it personally. This can cause a lot of angst among your team.
Not knowing or evaluating your management style can lead to high turnover in your company. A high turnover rate is usually an indication that something isn’t right. You’re either not bringing on the right team member to handle your style of management, or you may need to reevaluate how you lead and manage.
A cohesive team equals a productive and happy work environment, even if it’s done remotely. Is your management style creating this for you?
